Setanta are delighted that they will have Jennifer perform in this special celebration concert. She has been involved in many Setanta concerts over the years both as a soloists and as a member of various orchestras. Having made her first appearance as a soloists for the choir when she was just 14, On that occasion she performed Scherzo Tarantella by Wieniaswski. For this concert she will perform with the RTÉ concert orchestra the beautiful romantic piece, Poeme by Ernest Chausson. Written for famed violinist-composer Eugene Ysaye, Poeme is a work
about a violinist, for a violinist, and prescribing to the Italian myth of the violin’s very lure. It blends the French impressions of the East with the Italian affect of drama, and is a unique masterpiece in the history of music.
Now based in Toronto, Jennifer has performed in Koerner Hall, Toronto, the Barbican Centre, London, and the National Concert Hall, Ireland. She has performed as soloist with the Royal Conservatory Orchestra (Toronto) under the direction of Bramwell Tovey, and the Banff Centre Festival Orchestra under Joel Sachs, and has had performances aired on BBC Radio (UK) and CBC (Canada). She is a passionate chamber musician and has collaborated with David Geringas, Steven Dann, Barry Shiffman, Ernst Kovacic and Osvaldo Golijov. She has served as concertmaster of the Royal Conservatory Orchestra under Gabor Takacs-Nagy and Leon Fleisher, and the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland for performances in Carnegie Hall and Boston Symphony Hall.
