CARNEGIE HALL – AN EXPERIENCE NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN

In January 2015, Setanta were invited by the Distinguished Concerts International New York (DCINY) to join a performance of Karl Jenkins ‘The Peacemakers’ in Carnegie Hall.

Having been the first amateur choir to perform the piece in Ireland following its Dublin debut we knew we were in for a treat, but nothing prepared us for what was ultimately the experience of a lifetime. Working with Jonathan Griffith, DCINY Artistic Director and Principal Conductor from rehearsals to performance was a joy and meeting with Karl Jenkins was the icing on the cake.

Whilst there, we were invited to the Park Avenue offices of the Irish Consulate and were warmly welcomed by Anna McGillicuddy, Deputy Consul General who congratulated us on representing Ireland at this great event.

No photographs can truly represent what a wonderful experience it was, but below are some that will invoke a few memories. To view at full screen, click the icon bottom right of the slideshow. Enjoy!
