The Peacemakers Performance

Possibly the most challenging project we have undertaken so far, Setanta performed ‘The Peacemakers’ by Karl Jenkins in St. Joseph’s Redemptorist Church on Sunday 26 May 2013. A particularly exciting occasion for us as it was the first time the music had been performed in Ireland since its premiere in the National Concert Hall in October 2012. County Louth has a strong musical tradition and on this occasion we endeavoured to bring together the wealth of talent that is here. Apart from 4 instrumentalists for the evening’s performance, choir members, orchestral musicians, soloists and conductor were all our own! What talent in the ‘wee county’. We were delighted to have on board for the performance the Dún Lughaidh Senior Choir under the guidance of their musical director Orla Dromgoole. Our first time to have worked with young people in this way, it has indeed been a great pleasure. Below are a few photographs of the performance courtesy of Jimmy Hollywood, a Setanta Tenor.
